Compiled by Zachary Braziller Eileen Kenny, President of Infolink, Inc. Job: Eileen Kenny has been with Community Board 11 for two years. There, she is a member of the zoning committee, the education committee and the healthcare committee. "With the zoning committee, we look at certain buildings that have commercial use for safety and we also wind up getting involved with a lot of roadwork. As people come to you with their problems, you deal with a lot of situations and you do what you can to help. We get very involved with the parks department ... With the healtcare committee, I just went to a meeting at the Queens Hospital Center of the community advocate board. Recently, there was a domestic violence walk and workshop down at York College which Borough President Helen Marshall sponsored that was a big success. And at St. Francis Prep we had an internet pornography prevention workshop." Eileen also owns Infolink Inc., a healthcare management company she launched back in 1997. "We help to manage offices," she says. They help offices with staffing, accounting, and billing. Eileen earned her B.A. from Queens College in liberal arts. Residence: Fresh Meadows Family Facts: Eileen met her husband, Javier Gomez, at her 10-year high school reunion at St. Francis Prep. They have no children but three dogs. Reward of the Job: It's rewarding being able to help people find answers. People get frustrated if they feel they can't get something done. It's nice to be the person they can come to. That's why I joined the community board." It's the same with Infolink, Eileen says. She first started the company when a friend was starting up a few daycare centers and they didn't know how to start. "I got them the help they needed and now they're doing really well." Eileen started working in the Sloan Kettering business department, and her interest in healthcare went from there. Living in New York City in the 1990's, she worked a lot with local democratic officials and a lot of hospitals, which got her even more interested in starting up her own company. Favorite Memory: Infolink was listed in The New York Times' Better Business Bureau top 100 picks.
